About Our Organization
Rock Church Ministries International is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing ministry outreach, church building, education, and medical services to underserved communities in Africa. Our mission includes church planting, leadership training, medical center services, and educational programs aimed at uplifting and supporting those living in villages and communities where they have limited exposure to the full gospel of Jesus Christ. The mission covers prison ministry and school ministry for orphans and less privileged children.
Agape Medical Center Highlight
Thanks to your generous support Rock Church hosts periodic medical mission trips to help people in remote villages in Uganda and Nigeria. Additionally, through our medical center in Kampala, we are able to help more families by healthcare services such as dental, general medicine, pre-natal, and operation services on a sliding scale.
Our Founder
The Founder of Rock Church Ministries International is Charles Wambebe a Professor of Pharmacology, recognized internationally by his fellowship of The World Academy of Sciences, African Academy of Sciences, etc. He is also privileged to have won the TWAS Prizes in Medical Sciences among others. He was an Honorary Professor of Pharmacology at Bingham University, Nigeria, and Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa, and Consultant of the World Health Organization. Professor Wambebe developed medicines for the management of sickle cell anemia, HIV/AIDS, Malaria, skin fungal infection.
Professor retired from public service after attaining retirement in 2006. He then chose to relocate to the USA in November 2007 to join his family and spend quality time with his grandchildren. He planned to continue with passion vis-à-vis evangelism and discipleship programs at his USA home church, Community Baptist Church, Somerset, New Jersey. At a family meeting in January 2007, it was agreed to move to Atlanta due to warmer weather and cheaper houses there. But this plan changed when Charles had a revelation during a vision in July 2007. In that encounter, God said: “You are my Apostle; Plant Churches as you travel.” This vision occurred at about 3:30 am. About 5 years before that vision, God changed his prayer pattern. On three different occasions, he woke up at about 1 am after hearing knocks on the door of his bedroom. When he opened the door on each occasion, the Holy Spirit whispered: Pray. It was after the last vision that he realized that God desired him to be praying at that time of night. He obeyed. Thus, the vision in July was after his nightly prayer. He was then just lying down but not yet asleep. He heard the voice of God very clearly: You are my Apostle; Plant Churches as you travel.” "Subsequently, God revealed to me the vision and mission of RCM and told me to start from a village in Uganda." Before this divine instruction, Charles only travelled to Uganda once when he was serving the WHO. When the divine call was received he had no idea how to identify the village in Uganda where the Ministry would be launched. Meanwhile, as he waited to receive specific instruction on the particular village in Uganda, he believed in God.
The breakthrough came in August 2007. At a Science Meeting in Kenya, he went with some Christian tracts. During the coffee break, he shared the tracts with some people. One of them met him to seek mentorship on evangelism. It was during that encounter that I discovered he came from a village in Uganda. As he mentioned his village, the Holy Spirit whispered to me that the Ministry should be launched there. In obedience to that revelation, RCM was launched in Kiyindi village in Uganda in April 2008. Charles discovered that God is very specific. When he had a family meeting in January 2008, he told his family to join him in 40 days of fasting and prayers and that he would proceed to Uganda to launch the Ministry in April. He did not know that that pronouncement was divinely inspired. In March 2008, Apostle Charles received mail appointing him to serve as a Consultant at a Workshop in Uganda in April. Thus, God confirmed April as His choice time to launch RCM. God also provided a free ticket for his first mission trip to Uganda. There are now 2 branches of RCM in Kyindi and about 50 churches planted in Uganda.
